VRS Knows: Veterans Do It Better

Veterans Rideshare, Inc. was founded to provide opportunities to unemployed/underemployed Veterans through the booming transportation. Our motto is Putting Veterans to work, one mile at a time.

We are a veteran-owned and operated transportation services company providing non-emergency medical transport, freight shipping, courier, black car services, and more.

We’re dedicated to giving back to our service members by employing veterans, providing special rates and fares for veteran service organizations, and donating a portion of all fares to nonprofit organizations that support those who have served our country.

Just two members of the VRS family: Robert Brock (Army Veteran) and Jackie Toops (former Army wife).

Here are five reasons we love to hire Veterans:

  1. Leadership. From day one, service members are trained to be strong leaders and strong followers. Decisions and action items are made efficiently and effectively whether it’s their call, or it’s an order to be carried out.
  2. Ability to thrive as a team. Service members quickly adapt to being all in it together, whether on a covert mission, or having to run an extra lap because someone messed up while in formation. Veterans have a teamwork advantage over their civilian counterparts.
  3. Mission-focused. Veterans have the ability to focus on the task at hand, and are used to a briefing afterward, and identifying strengths and weakness in the process moving forward. They are solid in the moment, and are ready to reassess for the future.
  4. Ability to perform under pressure. While a civilian counterpart might have stressed over a paper jam, or goofing up the boss’s coffee order, a Veteran has deployed to a war zone, and may have had to jump out of an aircraft. Handling a disgruntled customer will be a piece of cake to a Veteran who has successfully navigated fast-paced situations.
  5. Adaptable and trainable. The military offers constant training opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of service members. This willingness and flexibility to learn new skills and embark on new missions, is highly applicable in any work place.

Veterans trust us! WWII Veteran Leslie Jones, wears a VRS shirt while receiving the first-class treatment by our team. He was in the Memorial Day Parade in DC this year.

A self-described “Jackie of All Trades,” Army wife Jackie Toops enjoys exploring the various facets of her personality by chronicling military life, world travels, family, her love of the arts and more. Her academic background is in the fields of Interdisciplinary Humanities, Museum Studies and Nonprofit Management, and she has overseen public relations for museums, galleries and universities. Jackie’s articles have been featured on Veterans Rideshare, Army Wife 101, Wall Street International Magazine, SoFluential, HomeAway, Military Biz Connection and FamiliesGo. While stationed in Germany, she regularly discussed her articles on-air with the Armed Forces Network in Wiesbaden. A mother of two, Jackie enjoys coffee, freelance writing, and supporting the military community.

Veterans Rideshare Employs Veterans, Pays It Forward

When Veteran Chris Pozek founded his company, he did so to give back to America’s former military service members. Today, Veterans Rideshare employs veterans and their families, provides dependable, safe and flexible transportation solutions, and directly benefits our nation’s former military personnel and other charitable organizations.

Pozek shares, “I have been taking care of people since I was a Combat Medic (91B) in the Army. It is truly an honor to ‘Pay it forward’ to veterans and military families.” It is to this end that he dedicated his efforts to offering direct employment opportunities to military veterans and providing a corporate culture that openly salutes and celebrates our nation’s heroes.

Members of the VRS team gather during their first VetFest event in May 2019, an event designed to highlight Veteran musicians and artists.

Veterans Rideshare strives to offer better solutions for reaching every destination and provides non-emergency medical transport, ad-hoc shuttle service, freight options and more.

They provide rider-focused options to include special rates and fares for Veterans organizations. Pozek shares, “We offer more options than other transportation services, and uniquely, we provide the chance for every ride to give something tangible back to the military men and women who have so selflessly served.”

A portion of all fares are dedicated to non-profit, 501(c)3 Veterans organizations, and passengers have the ability to designate an organization at the end of their ride. Each passenger has the ability to select the featured organization of the month, or donate to their charity of choice.

VRS Driver April Jimenez helps one of our favorite non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) clients.

Veterans Rideshare knows what it means to serve, and this is why the company generously gives back in numerous ways.

They have teamed up with the popular military lifestyle blog, ArmyWife101.com, to support active duty military families. “We’ve watched VRS help three military families in need. They provided money to the family of a disabled Veteran for a Thanksgiving feast, and brought an active-duty couple and their baby home so that both families could meet their new granddaughter. Most impressive was the generous $500 Christmas they provided to the family of a service member’s widow and the four grandchildren in her custody. Veterans Rideshare truly makes a difference.”

Veterans Rideshare is a business dedicated to serving our nation’s Veterans. Pozek closes with, “We strive to provide unique transportation options that will improve upon the lives, opportunities and possibilities of our passengers, our employees, and our nation’s Veterans.” To learn more about Veterans Rideshare, please visit veteransrideshare.com.
